France · Barème kilométrique
Mileage rates in France
France uses the barème kilométrique, which varies by fiscal horsepower (up to 7 CV), by distance band, and by whether the car is electric — so there is no single rate. Take yours from the official table. Tolls and parking are claimed separately.
What applies now
This is one column of a larger table. France sets the rate by engine size as well as by distance, so check your own vehicle against the source below before you rely on the figures here.
| Band | Rate |
|---|---|
| Every kilometre | 63,6 cents |
How a claim is worked out
Take 12 000 kilometres of business travel in France. The bands apply in order, so each one is charged at its own rate rather than the whole distance at the top rate.
| Band | Distance | Rate | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Every kilometre | 12 000 | 63,6 cents | 7 632,00 € |
| Total | 7 632,00 € | ||
What it used to be
